Rocks Cluster
A 10-node Linux cluster is available for running data-parallel applications. MATLAB, NS2, and the GNU Compiler Collection are installed on the cluster.
To use the cluster, first set up a cluster user account by contacting the system administrator. Then log in to the cluster front-end node, rocks.win.trlabs.ca.
The cluster uses the Sun Grid Engine to distribute jobs to the compute nodes. You can learn more about how to launch jobs on the cluster here: http://www.rocksclusters.org/rocks-documentation/4.0.0/start-computing.html
The primary Unix application server on the TRLabs network is a SunFire 480, with four 900MHz UltraSparc-III processors and 16GB of RAM; it runs Solaris 9. MATLAB (Release 14 Service Pack 2), Openffice, the GNU C compiler suite, and the Sun Java Development Kit are installed on this machine.
